you need an adapter plate so you can bolt a base intermediate shaft to the SH block.

you also need the base intermediate shaft. I am not sure you might need the axles also.

The adapter someone on the bored makes. I always forget his name though.

engine, axles (depending on year) I think 4gen have different spines. I'm also looking in this. also need axle bar ( ATTS takes the place of this) and the bearing. Its not an easy swap as you might think its also expensive.

a base or any other h22 trans will not bolt directly to it you need an adapter or a non sh motor.

I just did this conversion over the weekend. Parts needed:

Intermidate Shaft(AKA half shaft)
Base axles
BASE tranny(i used M2B4)
Steel template( 4'' wide by 1/4'' thick) can purchase at lowes.
Also need 14mm studs and bolts.

Its not that hard to do the conversion, just fabing the plate is a pain.

Don't think the SH head is a different part # you can check here but I thought all H22 heads were the same.

the sh motor will bolt to a non sh trans no adapter needed, i think you can eneven keep your sh trans just remove the atts and replace it with intermediate shaft, and buy base axles

The adapter plate everyone is talking about is for the intermediate shaft to mount to the sh block.

PirateMcFred makes them so if you don't want to fabricate it contact him.

Really? I thought you need a base tranny to this conversion? I know HT covered this topic with some pics and i just could not find it. That would be good if this is true, this saves money a lot. I've been trying to convert mine so that i can ran p28, but thinking about buying used tranny is kinda expensive.

I would be glad if someone has a complete and correct list of this conversion.

You can run the P28 w/ the ATTS, it should just shut off and run as an open diff. It'll be extra weight and you'll need to swap it later to run an LSD, but if you're just looking to tune you don't need to swap your tranny.
