I just tried installing it and double checked that the wiring was correct but when I try starting the car with the button all I hear is the relay clicking.



I hooked it up according to the DIY guide on bap.com

1. Cut starter wire from harness and tap it into 87, the starter wire is black with a white stripe found on the brown clip that is located below the grey clip when plugged into car.

2. Attach a wire onto the 85 tab of the relay to the port number 1 on the s2k button.

3. Cut the yellow wire on the oem harness, connect that wire to 87A.

For this part I used the yellow wire coming from the blue connector. Is that correct?

4. Connect the other end of the yellow wire from the ignition switch to tab 30 on the relay.

I used the same yellow wire I cut earlier but from the other end which is connected to the brown connector.


For #3/#4 it was from one yellow wire and I cut that in the middle. Then I attached a connector to the end from the blue connector for part #3 and another connector from the other end and



And for 5 (86) on relay I grounded it to chassis.

For the s2k button I had port 1 go to #2 (85 on relay), port 2 to a 12v power wire, and port 3 was grounded to car.


Where did I go wrong?

Oh yea I also have an aftermarket alarm which taps into some wires but I followed all those wires and none of them tapped into the ones that I spliced/cut into.

 

Read the guide a few more times and am pretty sure I hooked everything up correctly but it's still not working.

When I press the start button all I hear is the relay clicking, but if I want to I can still turn the car on with the key...

Anyone have any ideas?

If you are SURE you followed there Schematics, Check your connections.

How did you connect the wires to the relay?

Where did you ground "Port 3"?
