So I bought cat cat converter, header, muffler of my choice and found a shop that would do it my 2.5 exhaust. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the resonator. I asked the secretary of the shop on the phone and she said that most people who do my setup leave the resonator off. I'm looking for mainly performance out of my exhaust but do want a nice deep tone also but nothing extremely loud and 'ricey'. I'd like to to have it nearly stock sounding at highway speeds, but I still want it to growl when i punch it. After reading up on the exhaust sound thread I picked the SNL twinloop for muffler. Any suggestions about resonator? ... or do I even need to have one? I searched but found nothing. Thanx!!

i just did a 2.5" kteller piping, highflow cat, with a magnaflow muffler - I used a 22" magnaflow resonator, and I'm very happy with the results. the 22" fit fine on a 4th gen.

I Imagine without the resonator you are going to have more rasp, but I don't have experience with the twin loop. from what i've read (and generally speaking) people that leave the resonator out of the equation aren't happy with the raspy sound they get.

 

I left the resonator out... It's a little more raspy than I'd like and I'm getting a resonator welded in this summer.

I have had the exhaust without a resonator for a while now, I'm undecided on what size to get because I don't want it to quiet down the exhaust too much, I like the way my magnaflow muffler sounds.

However, I also dont want to pay to get a small 12" resonator and not notice a difference.

 

I put in a 12" resonator and noticed a mild decrease in raspyness and loudness. And you're going to love the tone of that muffler
