Default quick stupid question

searched and couldn't find a difinitive answer

will ATTS light always come on with a CEL?

i'm getting a CEL and the code indicates my CAT (because i punched through it) but not sure if ATTS should appear as well

yes on a type SH if you throw a CEL you will have the atts light come on as well. Its a bitch isnt it.

You sure its really a cat CEL ? May be a secondary O2 CEL due to the cat being hollowed out. If thats the case get an O2 sim.

yes, i'm sure it's the CAT....i punched through it because it went out and it was $40 to hollow it or $300 for a new one....i chose the lesser of 2 evils....i'll be replacing it with a highflo soon

well the 40 bucks they charged you to hallow it out makes your car run in limp mode there cheif. Pulls all the timing and what not out of your maps so you dont blow anything up. Your car is gonna be like diriving a DX hatchback. All noise and not going anywhere. get that shiest fixed.

I'm still using stock exhaust but I am trying to take my time figuring out what I want to do exactly with this car, I'd love to turbo but the fact that I have an SH doesn't make me too thrilled. So for now I need more info so I keep reading. I have never heard of an 02 simulator, how much are these and where could I get one.

PS sorry for jacking your thread but since we were on the topic....

i didn't even think about that as i was driving to the track the same day....decided to remove my silencer for the first time and give it a run....15.5 and a pissed off driver....sluggish is an understatement....then as i was driving home, it hit me that not only did i kill the cat, i killed my back pressure....i plan on getting it fixed in the next month or 2 and then i'm headed back to the track
