Default QUICK QUESTION

I HAVE AN 89 LUDE. I WAS DRIVING THE OTHER NIGHT AND THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR DIED. I WAITED ABOUT 30 MIN AND TRYED STARTING IT AGAIN AND IT TURNED OVER AND I STARTED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN AND ABOUT 10 MIN LATER THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND DIED. I LEFT IT WERE IT WAS OVER NIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY I PUT A NEW BATT. IN AND IT STARTED BUT THE BATT. LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND ABOUT 6 HOURS LATER THE CAR WAS DEAD AGAIN. I THINK ITS THE ALTERNATOR I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF ANYBODY KNOWS FOR SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BEFORE I BUY AN ALTERNATOR. THANKS

Yes that is your alternator. But it could be your all caps. Either way both are bad.

The #1 arrow is pointing int he direction of yor alternator. Before you buy a new one, take it to your local Auto Parts shop and have them wire it up and test it. That's the best rout to go rather than shell out the money for something that could just be a wiring or the External Caps on the Alternator.

OT: k_dog please don't do all those things to the outside of your car....you will regret it pretty quickly and then realize you wasted a bunch of money.

For the record, my car is my car, and yours is yours. I will do the mods I feel worthy because I also do shows. My last car was a Supra so I make enough money to waste it.

Ok, cool, it just seems like everyone wants to go back to their OEM body panels after a while...but if that's what you like--- for you.

Ahh, it doesn't bother me. I can't do much right now becuase of 2 reasons: #1. The car is an automatic...too much to the crappy planitarials and It'll blow. I want to wait to change the transmission. And #2. I still need to convert to VTEC. I have an H23A1, I'm currently in the process of closing a deal for a JDM H22A1 Head. This will provide more tuning options for me than with the standard H23A.
