question on vtec

Default question on vtec

i know this is a strange thing to do but has anyone run a non-vtec ecu (s or si) on a vtec engine? is that even possible? i was just wondering cus i have a 96 si ecu and i'm itching to put it in my 97 lude type sh just to see how it runs. thanks.

it will most likely run like ****.......vtec wont engage and...................well....it will suck but try it if your that bored

i know the atts and vtec won't work but will doing so cause any serious problems? will it be at least drivable?

It will run fine, but you'll have no VTEC...that low cam will suckafter 5000 rpms...

Plus the H23 injectors are 240cc on a 2.3L engine, while the H22a4 is 290cc on a 2.2L. So basically thecu will be dumping a ton of fuel compared to what the H22a engine needs.

Overall, I give the idea a C minus
