question for prelude engine
anybody knows a good engine must be DOHC that will plug and play to my 97 Odyssey? I have a F22b6 SOHC.....i know its an accord engine but I heard that if im going to swap my engine Im gonna need a prelude engine....(which I know that accords don't have "DOHC" eingine) is there?
anyways what year and model of an engine will plug and play to my 97 ody? ohh yah one thing no Vtech I don't want to run any trouble just plain DOHC.

If you're wanting to swap to something non-vtec, your best bet is the h23a1. It obviously has more displacement, higher compression, larger bore, same stroke, about 30 more base HP.
h23a1(dohc, usdm 92-96 prelude, non-vtec);
Max power: 160 hp
Max torque: 163ft·lb
Compression ratio: 9.8:1
Bore x Stroke: 87.0 x 95.0 mm
f22b6(sohc, usdm 95-97 odyssey)
Max power: 130 hp
Max torque: 139 ft·lb
Compression ratio: 8.8:1
Bore x Stroke: 85.0 x 95.0 mm
I'm not exactly sure about the swap details...like what type of jumper harnesses you might need, or engine mounts, etc. You'll have to do some research on that topic. Read up, and do it right the first time.

'97 JDM Accord Wagon, H23A engine. Not to be confused with the earlier H23A non VTEC.
It's listed in the FAQ: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=641555

That or its an H22 with a blue valve cover! easier and cheaper than finding that accord engine, is any prelude 97-2001, or the vtec model from 93-96. I assume the oddysey is obd2, which means you need an obd2 engine, so the 97-01 prelude engine.

Haha, yeah. I jumped to conclusions from people talking about H23s in the begging. For all we know from that pic, it could even be an F20B...

Yes you can definately put a h22 in there,I saw one done in a magazine, and it bolts right up to the existing f22 tranny. But they opted to swap it out for a jdm m2b4 w lsd.Man keep us posted this is gonna be awesome, the mini van w *****.
I have a 97 Odyssey and need to replace the engine soon. I would like to move up to a Vtec but there is not alot out there for this. How is your swap coming along and do you have any info that might help?
