Default Qtec?

ok i know sum of u guys are getting tired of my stupid "stunna" post.
but im new to the prelude and i like to ask stupid questions so i dont have ask any one else.(so im not a dumbass twice)

stupid question 1: who here has ever heard of Qtec?

http://www.quicktimeperformance.com <---- their is a link.
ok, i found a dc sports header with this already fabricated.
so it bolts right up to my prelude.

stupid question 2 and 3: would you buy it? and will running open headers mess my car up?

please if it sounds stupid...please dont bash...this is the only place that gives really good advise.

thanks 4 reading.

well, from this picture, it looks like when it is closed, it'll just create turbulence ...so, other than the fact i hate the sound of a 4 cylinder with an open header, no i wouldnt buy it...

the dyno numbers it give is versus a stock exhaust...so yeah, open exhaust will give better numbers than a stock exhaust...but i imagine that a good aftermarket exhaust would perform nearly as well and sound SO much better...

just my 2¢

haha!!! when that valve opens, check out that red text, UNLEASH THE POWER!!!!!!! hahahahahaha. Its a waste of money man, dont even bother. instead, put the money to mod the collector on that POS DC header and you'll be much more happy.

Ummm no. The best header to run is a custom made header for your application. DC Sports showed, like 2-3 HP gain over the stock??? i think that was the final result in the header comparison. Eaither modify the collector on the DC one if you wanna go cheap, or go buy a bad *** header from; prospeed,SMSP,Hytech, many other people but there are 3 big ones. decent header is going to run anywhere from 500-1300 bucks.

in that case a dc sports...or this qtec thing... would be perfect right?

running an e-cutout with a turbo kit is good. You can keep the sleeper look with stock exhaust and run it open when you're racing.

I had one for a bit. It leaked all the time, I really thought it was a piece of **** and running open header does NOT sound good at all. Plus your engine isn't tuned for open header so actual performance is questionable on a prelude anyway.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of modification to make it work. I would just buy a header and forget about it.

My car gained like 3 whp and 1 or 2 ft lbs of tq when i put the exhaust back on. during the header comparison.

Running open header on stock prelude will only hurt your ears.
