Default Problems with ATTS

Hi, I've recently noticed that my ATTS has been acting up a little. Several months ago when I slapped on my 15x6.5 wheels with 205/5/15 BFG Drag Radials on, when I'd drive for a couple of minutes the ATTS light would come on. I figured that it's because the overall wheel diameter was only 23 inches which is roughly 1 inch smaller than the factory wheel diameter (24 inch diameter).

I've been running 225/40/18 (25 inch diameter) for about a year now and never had that problem. Just recently I got new tires on the front which are 225/35/18 (24.2 inch diameter) and dropped my car about another half inch and now my ATTS light comes on every once in a while. However about a week before I got the 225/35/18s I noticed that my ATTS startup sound, sounded a little different, which still sounds funny today. Almost like it was struggling a bit to initiate. Anybody know whats up?

How likely is it for the ATTS unit to break? Anybody out there have theirs go out on them? I'm about to swap my tranny because the reverse doesn't work and if my ATTS is almost dead I think I'm gonna go ahead and swap in a Type-S tranny so at least I'll have LSD. Unless the ATTS unit isn't too expensive. What do you guys think?

Im sorry I can't help you with troubleshooting, but if your ATTS unit is indeed on its way out, Precisionh23a, a prelude forum moderator, is selling an SH tranny and atts unit. Good luck.
