Prelude Strut Brace Upper Front Tower Bar Compatibility (Search Friendly)
Hi,
I have done a search and I would like an answer to this question:
Will a Spoon Upper Front Strut Tower Bar or Brace from a BB6 5th generation Prelude fit a BB2 4th generation Prelude? and vice-versa?
Thanks.

Re: Prelude Strut Brace Upper Front Tower Bar Compatibility (Dougs96SI)
I remember reading about this on http://absoluteprelude.com...The two ARE interchangeable but i think you have to file away some of one of the brackets to get it to fit. No problem really, just get your file out and work with it for awhile.

Others have said: "The 5th gens are shorter and a little wider at the front than the 4th gens."
Therefore the strut brace wont fit, apparently...
I would really like a definitive answer. I also read the absolute prelude DIY.

I know It might be a little bit off topic. but does anybody know why neuspeed has a different part number for the 92-96 nonvtech and the 93-96 vtech prelude for the upper front strut tower bar. is there a clearance issue with the motor. maybe this is the same issure with the 5th gen.

the 5th gen front spoon bar will not fit in a 4th gen.
the REAR bar WILL fit though.
and yes you have to file part of the bracket in the 4th gen to make the 4th gen bar fit because of the resevoirs and rhd-lhd etc.

There's a Spoon front strut tower bar for the 5th gen? Wow, I thought they only made it for the 4th gen. Anybody got a link to a site that has it? The rear, too, if possible.

It's been out for a few years now. There was a big group buy since it was in demand.

Thanks. I called them up and they quoted me approximately $336 shipped.
Sticky Tires: Thanks for posting the pic. It looks like it should clear the JRSC...

So as a confirmation on this thread, the 5th gen FRONT Spoon Strut Brace (or any other brand FRONT strut brace) will not fit a 4th generation prelude or vice versa...

AFAIK, I've never seen/heard of a strut bar clearing the JRSC. Maybe you'll need one customized to fit.

Correct. Only the rear is interchangeable.

4th and 5th gen strut tower braces are interchangeable. 5th gen owners need only to disconnect and move a harness, takes all of 2 minutes to do.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I organized a group buy of Spoon bars for about 30 people. I know for a fact that the Spoon is the same for the 4th/5th gens front and rear.
Honda didn't change any of the suspension geometry in the 5th gen from the 4th. All suspension components will swap, save for mixing Type Sh and other springs/struts. The towers didn't change at all.

I don't know where this stuff came from, the strut tower braces swap fine between the two gen's.
