Prelude
Mate has just bought a prelude for £500 ($790). He says it is a 2.0 16 valve SOHC i have looked though the list post before. See Link

I can not see a SOHC 2.0. this car is a UK. Is he correct about it being a sohc, i had a quick look in the dark at engine that was before he said it was a Sohc. So i did not look at that bit, but i remember that the rocker cover looked bit like the won on my D16Z6. What sort of power and torque is this producing, how would it do against my civic with D16Z6

I've never heard of a 16 valve SOHC, only a 12 valve SOHC or 16 valve DOHC.
The SOHC makes around 110HP, DOHC around 140HP, don't know the torque figures.
EDIT: These HP values are for the 3rd gen, which is what I thought you were asking about.

Just spoke to him on the phone and he looked in honda service manual he got with car and it is 2.0 16valve non vtec sohc compression 9.5:1. I will try to get more info.
16 valves for a SOHC would never exist. I'm not familar with how a SOHC operates, but I do know the for a DOHC there are two valves for intake and two valve for exhaust. I think a SOHC has 2 valves(total of 8)for intake and the exhaust I clueless on.
