why is everyone hating on the 5th gens? What is wrong with 200 hp, well, 195 in the 97's and an H22a4? Meh, if it was up to me, i would get the newer car, most likely the 5th gen will have less miles and since this is a car, that is a good thing.

aaannddd...the 5th gen is not ugly...jeebus it is beautiful. Meh, this is a stupid debate, i bet this guy will take all our advice and end up buying a v6 convertable mustang.

if i ever buy a mustang, it'll be a 70's gas eater. dude, i live in ut! we have winter here, unlike in texas we get snow in measurable ammounts. i need at least fwd. rear wheel is completely useless when it snows unless you like donuts and spinning out of control. plus if i get a convertible where will i put my roof rack?

uh, the 5th gen has WAY more leg room in the back seats. You couldn't even fit your FEET (i'm talkin about foot and toes here) on the ground in the back seats because the front seats sits soo low to the ground. You CAN fit 4 in the 5th gen, but you could probably fit 3 in the 4th gen (the person in the back seat has to be lying accross though).

hahahah i fit 4 people in the back seat of my 4th gen. that's 6 people in total. crazy as **** though. we had a guy on the right, left, and middle and a girl lying across them and me and my bro in the front seats.

1995 preludes did not have 4ws

1994 Si was the last one that had 4ws in US.

no type-s...
hopefully by the end of the year i'll have $5-6k to work with. if this is true, and god i hope i have more to work with, then i think basically all 5th gens are out of the picture.
but hopefully i'll have at least $7k to work with within 6 months.

now, one of you kind people told me not to narrow it down to a specific year or generation, which is a good strategy. so i've been looking into whats the earliest year i can get parts for , namely suspension (i love, LOVE, tein). and i've discovered that 92-00 have basically any mod i could imagine.

please, PLEASE, correct me if i'm wrong.

Just a suggestion, and this is a personal opinion, but I would stay away from first model years. Like '92 and '97. Just a thing I have, not really based on anything, about letting the manufacturer sort out any problems a first year run might have. I know the Z32 300ZX-TTs were that way, stay away from the '91s.

i own a 4th gen SI, but i would recommend getting the 5th gen basically because it is newer and has less miles most likely, but its really up to you. Test drive both of them and see which one you like better. Either way, im sure you will be happy.

Go with the 5th gen. The styling is a little wierd, but it grows on you.
