You want a 4th gen VTEC model. Why do you want a SE?

here is some advice.. don't narrow it down period.. you will NEVER find a specific year and model car in the shape you want.. trust me, i tried this for 2 years.. just have an open mind.. I wasn't even looking for a lude when i bought mine!

It is not a Type-S, it is a Base model S. Get the 4th or 5th gen, the one you feel is a better car. Test drive them both and make your decision. For me (being 6'5"), the 5th gen is the only choice. Make sure you have VTEC though.

I gotta say 5th gen but since its not one of your choices the 95 SE would be my pick. I love the 4th gen exterior and the h23 isnt that bad 160hp 156 TQ.

'97 is a 5th Gen.

...and the back seats in the 5th Gen are non-existant as well.

uhhhh yeah I know what a 5th gen is 97-01 prelude. The 5th gen prelude has a little less front head room and front leg room than the 4th gen prelude.

thanks for all the input. it's helping my decision. i like the styling of the 5th gen, but the 4th gen's look dope too. i wasn't clear about this, and i'm sorry but the 95 SE has vtec, i called the guy up and went and saw it and drove it. the only reason the 4ws is in there is because it's dirt cheap and it has 4 wheel steering...or so i've been told by a certain person selling a certain older vehicle that may or may not be a 88 prelude si 4ws...

anyway, i tallyed up the votes and the 97 prelude S was the winner by 2 votes over the 95 prelude SE. i dunno though, my buddy recently got one, and i'm gonna see which gen it is. if he likes it, i just might get the same gen.

i really appreciated the input i got here, so i think i'm gonna stick around for a while.

p.s.- lowflyin, i got it...it was funny

get the 1995 SE!!!

in my opinion, the last gen preludes look like an obese fat girl. their *** end is too fat and their headlights look like a big bulging squares (or like a fat girl eying some twinkies...).

Hey ...
95 SE Model does NOT come with VTEC unless someone did a motor swap, the SE should have the Si engine in it.

H22 = VTEC model
H23 = NON VTEC

there is alot of good to be said about the H23 though ... alot of info here on H-T ...

I personally think the 4th Gen is the better car hands down...
styling and performance wise ... but you have your own taste...

Look under the hood of that 95 SE and if it does indeed have a H22 swap then the valve cover will have VTEC stamped on it in bold letters...

Also, when you drive it you can hear the VTEC "kick in" at around 5k...
a very noticeable sound difference cant be missed ...

I own a 93 w/ H22 and one day i thought about trading up and went to drive a brand new lude ... the last year they made them, couple years back...

I completely dissliked the 5th gen ... the interior is pure crap in my personal opinion ... plus, it was sluggish compared to my 4th Gen...

Just another tid bit... ive never lost a street race to a 5th Gen, but ive never raced a serious 5th gen for that matter....

Actually i dont mind the exterior styling of the 5th Gen, i was just turned of by interior and weight...

holy crap there you have it !! 4th Gen Wins
