Default Power steering ??

I have a 93 honda prelude vtec JDM h22A and had a back rack and pinion when i got it, i drove it for a while with no Power steering and it made a loud squeek / grindng noise when i turned the wheel. i replaced the power steering rack and it seemed to go away for the most part, my dad and i have just done h22a JDM swap on it and we accidently messed up the belt, so i drove it for a few days and got a new belt, now the squeek is back and its just as loud as it was with no P/S. What is causing this ?

You burnt the pump up by leaving the belt on with a dry system, not a good idea.

Check the 2 o-rings on the pump, when they're bad they'll pull air into the system which can cause it to whine.
