please help
i love preludes and i'm looking for a new car right now. My buddy says i shouldn't get a prelude becasue they are slow but I want one really bad. I have 5K$ and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do with it. How much would it cost for parts to get it around 300 hp and what kinda parts. I definatly want to turbocharge it but i'm new and i dont really know what to do or get, so please help me out.
Welcome. With 5k you wont be turboing anything for a while. That is unless you buy a cheap 3rd gen or 4th gen. With 5k your best bet is to look for a 91-96 Honda prelude. You may be able to find a 5th gen prelude (97-01) with that but It will be in bad condition and or High Miles. I say find yourself a nice 4th gen in good condition and chill. You should still have 1k or more to play around with. And what does your friend drive? Ill smoke him lol.. jk
Welcome!
Welcome!
Your buddy is a tool. There isnt a Civic, Prelude, Integra or Accord that i would consider fast from factory. Every car will need work to give it some power. He sounds like an SRT-4 owner. Slap him in the face.
dude do u ever say anythin to help some1 out??? lol
5grand is a pretty decent amount of money. u can easily find a decent prelude for that amount. although ur probly gonna be lookin at a 4th gen si(h23 non vtec) in that price range unless u get really lucky. wut is ur preference as car as preludes go...4th gen(92-96) or 5th gen(97-01)? u can get a good h22a(vtec motor) for about 2grand from Hmotorsonline.com i would make ur 1st big step of buyin the car 1st before u worry about the motor though. but as anthony said, read the faqs when u do eventually get ur car. goodluck and welcome to the honda family

LOL, i like that.
Rule #1. STAY AWAY FROM EBAY KITS AND OTHER MISC. CRAP! Your buddys turbo kit for 2k will consist of a hair dryer and toilet paper. If your going to spend money on a car, do it the right way because your gonna spend alot more to fix/replace stuff when it starts to go out.
A 4th gen with a H22 with a good set of I/H/E and tune would own your buddies Sol.

Dude, please hear me out. Do this for now:
1. Buy a 4th gen
2. Swap in a H22
3. Spend the next year researching and saving up money.
4. Then blow your cash.
5. You friend gets Ow3ned.

I need help. Can anyone tell me what the little black box is under the intake manifold on a 99 h22a4.It has some sort of vacumn hose going to it and from it.There is also a plug that clips in there that has 2 wires comming out of it.there is a red wire and a black with yellow stripe wire.I found where the red wire went and whoever took the head off my car before i had it pinched the red wire when putting it back on and it was broke.I have looked all over and i cant find where the black wire goes. Can anyone tell me what they know about it........thanks
Yes, DO NOT put a turbo 'kit' on your car when you're still a noob. Buy the car, spend what money you need to getting it running good and do lots of research on how turbo kits work...you cannot just slap on a 2K kit and not cause a bunch of problems. Do not let your retarded friend install a turbo either.
