piston crack
so i finally got a dyno date. me and a buddy put together an LS computer with a chrome chip to tune it. but when we got to the dyno EJ said he wouldnt let us use his wideband because i was blowin to much smoke (oil). so i made a horsepower pull 134whp 134wtq 92 prelude Si H23a1 with rebuilt motor fully built top end with crower cams springs and retainers. stock rockers. intake header exhaust msd ignition. pretty week huh. but this is a dyno where u will see the lowest numbers possible he still said that i made 170 to the flywheel. sorry no digital camera so no dyno graph. so i was burning lots of oil so i ripped the motor apart again yesturday and found that my number 3 piston was cracked in between the 2 compression rings and my number 4 cylinder had a broken ring what would cause this
how many miles on the motor?.... on prelude motors that is one of the weakest points and the first thing to go when goina fi or hi comp.... so unless u've been beaten on it really hard or on nitrous/turbo then i would assume its just the bottom ends "time"
i just pulled an h23 i bought apart and the walls were scarred too, from the broken rings/ring lands

yeah but the rings were bran new and the piston wasnt cracked the first time i put it in. but the motor is getting built and sleeved now so i dont really care. im guna try and go all motor with 10:1 JE pistons darton sleeves crower rods. if its still solw than im gunna put a 150 shot on it

The motor was probably running lean. The damage sounds like detonation was occurring.
