Pics and Advice needed
I just started my FMIC install today and i immediatly ran into a problem, I have my intercooler mounted to my bumper, that wen't well, but i would like to know how you guys ran your charge pipes? I'd like to see some pics if you have them. Also I need a coupler that will attach to both my 65mm TB and my charge pipe which is considerably smaller, if anyone has any remadies for this and can supply me the info i would appriciate it.
Thanks
Thanks

Just get a slicone reducer from the many websites that sell silicone stuff, for ex. http://www.hosetechniques.com, http://www.turbohoses.com, honda-tech classifieds, etc...

Re: Pics and Advice needed (Hawkze_2.3)
my cold side piping fits exactly like a CAI with a 90 degree bend at the bottom where the air filter usually is to go to the IC.
hot side is IC -> 90 degree bend back -> 90 bend up thru the washer fluid reservior hole -> 90 bend towards turbo

yeah that seems to be where most people are runnign the pipes. Thanks for the indepth pics. Also I took off my crash bar with my bumper and mounted my intercooler in there, i'm not sure if it's a good idea or a bad one, but mounting it was easy and it cleared so...

Re: (96vtecI4)
ok good, just making sure.
if you dont wanna run the piping how i did it, you can also relocate the PS cooler (or remove PS completely) and enlargen the hole in the rad support where the cooler goes thru, run the piping thru there, and its like a straight shot to the turbo.
it cuts off around 5 FEET of piping, which = not nearly as much lag

would it be easier to mount my crash bar then mount my intercooler on that, run my pipes, and then put the bumper on rather then, mount the IC on the bumper and try and manouver the IC with lower charge pipes on it through the holes to the upper charge pipes?

Ok i'll be re-arranging it today if it's warm. About the smaller bumper support, I don't think i'll need it as i'm running a pretty small IC, thanks for the info though. esedulerp5tenin did you do anything with your washer resivior or just toss it? I checked it out today and I that plan should work if my pipes don't **** on me but I'm not sure if I can give up the washer fluid.

Re: (96vtecI4)
yea idk what i'm gonna do with the washer fluid either, cuz the bumper wont fit with both the piping and the reservior there at the same time.
altho, ever since all my washer fluid spilled out when i was test fitting the pipes, i have gotten rather used to cleaning the windshield @ every gas station or even with snow if need-be.
so maybe i'll ditch it, maybe i'll figure out how to relocate it.

Re: (96vtecI4)
kit came with the d/p, but its the SHITTIEST looking thing i've ever seen. the welds look exactly like bird ****.
if you bring the d/p flange to a muffler shop, they should be able to make you one tho

lol yeah, i'll think about that. My piping curves a little sharper then urs, i had to do some grinding, is there any way to retain my power steering routing the pipes like this?

Re: (96vtecI4)
yea, i'm fully expecting to be able to keep my PS (even tho i haven't had the belt on for months ) with a couple 45 degree couplers that go around the PS pump.
i'll let you know this weekend, i plan on bolting everything mechanical up these next couple days

I have everything going good excluding my run in with the grinder(lost a bit of my finger) but I have my all my charger pipes ran excluding the top one that runs to the turbo. Post up pics of your progress I'm still having trouble running the top pipe, won't clear a bunch of stuff. Did you have to remove your splash guard? mines not clearing my IC, I think i'm going to shave it down.

i have since dremelled off ALOT more than this, haah

Re:
I had to toss out my washer tank, because I couldn't find a backdoor IC that I liked, I just used a few J-Bends, which consists of 45/90 deg bends, and like Hawkze_2.3 said, silicone reducers will solve part of ur problem.
what size piping are you using?

2.25, and my TB's 2.5. Ordered a bunch of couplers last night. Todays project is making room to run the charger pipe through the hole left by the washer fluid resivior.

well just got all of my charge piping ran. I've ordered 90% of the parts i need to complete the entire setup, only thing left is a downpipe, and 8 bolts haha. Should have oil lines run, turbo and wastegate mounted, so i'll hopefully post pics of it when it's done.

Yes, please post up some pics when you get it all in. I just ordered my charge piping kit and only have to order a few gaskets and flanges and I will be set.

If any one can give me a diargram, pics, or instructions on how to run all the vacume lines to my wastegate, turbo and the best vacume source to use, i'm assuming somewhere on the intake manifold.
