PGM-FI relay main relay location
Hello,
I have a honda prelude 1997. I cannot find this relay (PGM-FI relay main relay). I searched underneath the driver side dash. Removed part of the dash already and cannot find this relay.
Please help.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: PGM-FI relay main relay location
Where exactly have you looked?
It's actually not attached to anything and hangs off by itself as part of the wiring harness. (might be zip tied to the larger harness) It's a big rectangular grey block (about 1x2") and it's in the gap right underneath the steering shaft and just above the pedals. I don't recall having to remove any trim to get to mine actually but I'm a 4th gen.

I looked all over underneath the driver side above the pedals. I have the relay already but I cannot find anything that like it on the car. The part has a metal bracket so I was thinking that it is mounted somewhere there. But you're saying yours was just hanging?
The reason I remove the dash was because I couldn't find it. This was supposed to be simple but so far it hasn't. If you have any suggestion I really would appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks Tech8. I saw that picture but I can't really find it with it.
The closest component that I can find is the one below. Would this be it and it's just different? I don't think this is a relay. It has chips. Does anyone know what this is?

Re: PGM-FI relay main relay location
OK, thanks a lot. That's why I couldn't find it. This one is different.
Question: are these component also notorious for failing like the discrete relay type?
The symptom that it shows is: the car just stalls then it will crank the engine but it has a hard time starting. This happened 3 times already.
And would you happen to know the part number for this?
Thanks very much!
