I'm new to this forum, and I would like to ask you guys a question, to which I have not yet found an answer.
I have a 1996 honda prelude, I sold my 91 skyline GTS-4 about 2 weeks ago and picked up this baby.
I have a question about the paint color.
Its a 1996 prelude S, it was painted a deep black as you can see in the picture, does anybody know the exact name of this color and or the paint code??
I searched paint codes online and came up with these two possible paint colors / codes, I'm not sure which one is correct, or if they are both wrong
Flamenco Black Pri Metallic Clearcoat___NH-592P__96-98
Granada Black Metallic Cleearcoat_______NH-503P__88-97

body has 250xxx but is in excellent shape for its age.

I want the paint code, because I recently purchased a bodykit, and am going to paint it and install it when I recieve it. I will specify a second thread in the paint/body forums to find out further information to guide me through that procedure.

 

Was your R32 converted to LHD, I know that Canada specs and US specs are different, do you know what had to be done to the vehicle to get it into Canada please.

I take it that the color is not original or that the color code sticker was painter over?

 

My skyline was RHD.
The only import rule we have in canada, is once a vehicle is 15 years of older we are able to legally import it and register it.
Minor modifications need to be done, Dot headlights and tailights, ensure it passes OOP and insurance inspection.
Please don't turn this thread into a JDM debate, I'd hate to have this closed down.
I have no idea where the paint code sticker is? Otherwise I'd check imediately.
I believe this is a stock paint job, and the original color. I could be wrong,
anybody have any ideas, and pointers where I can find this paint sticker if I still have it.

Well, that site used to have the paint codes, but it seems to be down at the moment.. I'll see if I can find another one...

 

in the states, nighthawk black was used on 1996 preludes. Earlier ones had granada black, like my 1993.

 

I just called honda today, gave them my vin number.
Paint code is NH 592P * Tri metal metallic black *
Incase anybody was interrested.

Now I need to find a shop in calgary whom will mix this paint code for myself.

The stickers are inside the door jam, one side is EXT color and the other door has INT color but yours might have been painted over.
