open headers
as soon as i get the $500 im getting a 88 crx hf from a friend, im wanting to put an h23 stock motor in it until i save up and get all my engine components. Its going to be striclty a drag car. and i know in muscle cars, its best to run open headers. but is it the same for Honda's?

Re: open headers (94prelude)
That entirely depends on the car, engine, header combo you are running. Remember, back presure is a good thing! Just not too much... if your running an ultra high-HP built engine there is some power to be found running without exhuast(and some weight to be lost) but... I dunno I've seen peole run faster without an exhuast but most of them had stock manifolds, so they still had some Backpressure

Re: open headers (preluda92)
Wrong, backpressure is bad. Exhaust gas velocity is good. Backpressure is good for light "tip in" throttal driving, like you do in the city, where you are half on the throttal or less. Open header generally produces gains throughout the RPM band on just about any car when at WOT.
