Nobody listed OSUCKA Motors? What, you don't want to pay for a H23A and get an F20B with the engine code grinded off?

Got my h22a from tigerjapanese, I'd figure I'd post an update since posting on page 1 about making the order.

Ordered on the 11th, received early morning on the 18th...my motor got delayed and inspected by customs, which is rare but happens.

Vitrans Express had nothing smaller than an 18wheeler to deliver it, so the Vitrans Warehouse Manager delivered my motor personally in the back of his brand new F350 dually. Really nice guy, helped me unload it and everything.

Anyways...the motor overall was fairly clean, looks great. Only issues I've come across is no fuel pressure regulator, a hole in the spark plug cover. Also...I learned the hard way that they don't send you an ecu with your motor unless you get a motor AND transmission. To this very minute I'm still searching for a fair-priced JDM P13 ecu, with no luck so far.

I e-mailed tigerjapanese about an ecu...and they responded within 24 hours, asked me for my order number, and told me they'll look into possibly just giving me one. I hope they do, it'd save me much time and some money. From what I read in Mike's email, I think they were supposed to send me one...but we'll just have to wait and see.

Also...be sure to use jdmtigerjapanese.com instead of tigerjapanese.com to place an online order, the second website has ordering issues and won't let you place your order online for some reason...jdmtigerjapanese.com worked just fine for me.

Same here. Drove down to pick up my H22 and they were friendly and helpful. Bought it about a year ago, motor runs strong today, no issues whatsoever. The lady even offered me wholesale prices and credit me on the sales tax when I mentioned that we had a repair shop. I've recommended a few friends down to them and they've all had the same good result with their motors.

Got my motor about 2 years ago from Shoaib at jdmsource.ca. He got me a pristine h22 w/lsd trans, gave me a bunch of extras too!
Motor was SUPER strong too, had less than 50,000km on it.. everything on it was in beautiful shape

nobody listed ebay.

i got an h22a 4 yrs ago from ebay, had bent nipples on the intake mani, but that was an easy fix. ran strong as hell, burnt no oil. sold the car 2 years later and it ran exactly as it did when i got it. no complaints. paid $900+shipping.

Then i got another for my second lude off ebay 2 years ago. tps broke in shipping, and the shipping company gave me $500 back for the damage. it cost $980+415shipping (and then i used the tps off my h23). ran super strong, took 2 years of autox abuse and never had any major problems. felt really good tuned on chrome

If your motor was that damaged, missing the VTEC essentials, missing the harness...they would have done an exchange within the first 30 days. I've never heard of them not doing so, they have excellent customer support. I don't think Mike Yuonos would have refused you an exchange...so there's something else you must have forgot to mention in your post. Hell...mine was missing a fuel pressure regulator, all I had to do was e-mail them a pic of where it should be...and they offered to send me one, but I declined and said I'd just use my h23 fpr...and save everyone the time.

FYI: The harness isn't guaranteed, read the fine print. Those motors are cut from the cars...the whole point is to remove the harness and use the one from your h23 like I just did.

That was the deal of the century, holy $hit!

A $900 doller Vtec motor with shipping? FACK, thats disgusting.

Who shipped it? Ill remember to use them more often.

I got mine from a shop in northern cali called Rising Sun Engines....they had a great selectio of h22's and let me hand pick my motor. All of them are tested for compresiion and leakdown results, and also they hot run them on natural gas to ensure good running used engines.
It wasnt the cheapest place,I paid 1500 plus tax for just a motor and p13 ecu....but I had the peace of mind of hand selecting a very very clean used h22,that looked brand new inside AND out.

I was in the market for another h22 long block and I have seen people talking about tiger so I decided to get it from there. I have had no major problems at all. Other than a few broken sensors (which were easily replaced from the h23), compression was solid 220 across the board. Personally I dont know what everyone complains about, quick service and shipping, sure beats a few places I have tried out. Of course for the price you dont receive and ECU, but for $700 + shipping, I'm not going to complain.

I used Jspec other known as JSA in canada, price was reasonable, service was great, never had a problem with the whole 18 wheeler thing since i work at a dealership we just lifted that sucker off with a crane and bam i had my motor within 5 days almost a year ago and i havn't had a problem other than just re-sealing it since it sat for so long in a warehouse. great buy and would def. recommend

Just got the new motor from H-motors this morning. It wasnt supposed to be delievered until next Thursday. Aside from that, every thing looks superior. Just as I thought it would, over that crap place in patterson.

The motor was wrapped in so much bubble tape and plastic, that you could bounce the thing.

All in all everything looks sound. I dont think Ill have any issues with it not working properly, I have the utmost trust in this comapany.

Ill post compression results and what not later on.

Got my JDM H22 with M2B4 from Hmotors installed about a week ago. We had the valve cover off to change the t belt and damn, it was pristine. Everything was a shiny silver, no sludge or carbon build up at all. Delivery time was decent, altho having to get it off an 18 wheeler was not expected. I had to have it delivered to my mechs shop since they have a forklift. Engine was in great shape. The harness was cut up but thats ok since I used the h23 harness. It would have been nice to have an intact harness to use a few of the vtec connectors instead of cutting and splicing them. Over all A++. Plus they gave me two stickers1!!!

Ask a local garage where they buy their motors, I'm sure they would know about a place that is open to the public.

I pretty much had the same experience. Decent looking motor, a few broken sensors, a broken spark plug cover...otherwise it was good to go. Shipping took about a week longer than I had expected, and I had to buy an ecu elsewhere...but for $887shipped, you can't go wrong. MY prelude runs and drives great, motor tested 205 across the cylinders.

I'll buy from TJ a million more times before ever paying HMO's jacked fkn prices on their power-washed motors. They wanted like $1400(+shipping) for the same motor I paid $700(+$187 shipping) for.

Jason Buckner of JDM Speed lab
JDMspeedlab.com (doesn't work anymore maybe he's in jail... but he's still on ebay)
Ebay store: anarchy motors

When i received the engine, it was addressed from OSAKA.

Long Story...

I Bought the H22a and m2b4 from this guy a couple years ago, before i knew about honda-tech. With my work and shop schedule, I just didn't have time to start the swap for about 2 months. When the time came to put the motor in, pulled the valve cover, there was OVER 1" OF SLUDGE in the head. Most disgusting thing i have EVER seen. After seeing that, i was immediately pessimistic as to the condition of the rest of the motor.

Pulled the head off. Everything looks ok... motor turns over nicely..WAIT... i can hear a clicking sound twice per revolution. Watching the pistons closely, i noticed that cyl# 3 never reached TDC. Pulled the oil pan, and not a big surprise, there are metal chunks EVERYWHERE. The rod bearing for cyl. 3 was G-O-N-E. Absolutely nowhere to be found except for chunks and filings. 2 of the mains were spun and trashed. all the cyl walls were scored beyond any hone, crank is destroyed.

The place claims that leakdown and compression were tested. lol.. i'd like to see compression with that rod bearing gone.. I called the guy up, and of course, because i didn't respond within the 30 day "warranty" period, i had nothing. When asking about the compression or leakdown testing i of course got the run around, 'oh i sell so many motors there's no way i can remember yours exactly." (would you need to when one cyl shows 0?) checked his feedback and the guy sells like 2 motors a month.

I talked to both ebay and paypal and because it was after 30 days, there is nothing they can do to dispute the fact either. I realize that it is my fault for waiting before installing the engine, but why would someone send out crap that doesn't even make compression, claiming that it has been tested.

I cleaned up the head and it was still useable, so i just stuck that on my H23A1. So, in the end, i got a head, ecu and tranny(not tested yet) for freakin $2200
