Ok.. this is a "thunk" type of sound, and I just noticed it a couple weeks ago. I'm guessing a CV but it doesn't really seem like it. Most of the time I notice it it's when I'm starting from a stand-still. Sometimes I can get it to happen if I'm backing up and stop, after the car's weight shifts back forward it occures (which makes me think it's not the CV but maybe the strut?) I've also noticed it happen one or two times while turning left into a parking lot or something that has a slight lip compaired to the road (read> bump). I only really notice it on the left side and can feel it lightly also... any ideas to give me a clue where to look tomorrow?

 

u sure your not backing over your cat or something. check your CVs and your ball joints..

 

do you have a camber kit by any chance?

 

check everything

 

Check rear upper control arms ball joints, or it could be the dreaded shock knock problem on preludes....

 

Nope, it's not lowered at all. It also is comming from the front.. which is what was making me think CV. Doubtful though
