Default Odd Issue with Speed. Electrical?

I have noticed recently that my rpm and speed do not match up anymore like they did before. I have a 4th Gen SI and at 80mph I am at about 4grand. Now at 80, I am at about 4300. This is not jsut limited to 5th gear either, at all gears, my rpm are a little higher for the speed that I am usually at. I was thinking this was either an electrical issue with my speedometer, but it does not display any other symptoms. Either that or my clutch is constantly slipping but I do not know it that is even a feesable idea. Let me know please. TIA

You can always punch it in fifth at about 40 and see
if the rpm's are increasing too fast for the speed your going

this has been going on and off for a few weeks now. sometimes when i get in the car and drive it in 5th on the highway the rpm's are fine, but other times when i drive they car, they are off a bit. my clutch is just at about 100k and it the oem origional. i have not changed the tires or rims recently or at all for that matter and my oil and filter have been changed not 2000 miles ago. the car is really weird sometimes. i have noticed that in city driving if i am not stopped and i drop to second and am at like 1500 and gas it, it feels like a little slip but i have not droped into 5th at 40 like the suggestion. i was thinking that the speedometer might be going bad or maybe just got misalligned or mis-calibrated. any more ideas guys, and thanx for the other replies.

i think the whole system works off of a voltage signal from the speed sensor if the line is exposed somewhere it is possible it has corrision on it, this would add resistance to the cicuit and throw it off, not saying that is the problem but its possible
