Default OBDII programming ecu ...

is there any news from any of the places working on that issue ?

there seems to have nothing talking about t on hondata
and OBD-1 swap implies a lot of things( $$$ ) unfortunatly

why do they say we can't get a programmable chip for the obdII ?
if the chips were burnt fisrt..they had to be without program nah ?

couldnb't we use 96+ b16 b18 ecu ?
what about the mugen and spoon ecus ?? aren't they obd2 ??

sure its chipable but $$$ to find the vtec and rev limits, within the program...84 pin vs easily attainable 28 pin eprom.....more ecus...more people....

just get a obdii to obdI harness converter and obdI ecu....

any 96+ ecu is obdII (the difference in JDM ecus is that they use obdII everything but the extra sensors, sort of obdI with new plugs)

u can use a b18c ecu with right maps...

Default Not so simple..

..you will need:
OBD1 ecu either p13 or p72
OBD1 h22 distributor [which you'll need to rewire for the ckp and tdc sensors.]
If you use the p13 [obd1 h22 ecu] youll need the obd1 h22 inj. and resistor pack, since they are peak and hold, and the impedances are different.
OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness

The easiest way to go would be to use an obd1 gsr ecu/p72 and just get a obd1 h22 dist., and rewire, that way you wont have to switch out inj. since the p72 ecu recognizes saturated inj.'s, unlike the p13 that operates peak and hold units!
You'll gaion about 5-8 whp across the board, and you can rasie/lower and advance/retard timing as you like, but, you'll lose atts [if you own an SH], and the immobilizer system is also lost! So, just a few things to consider, as far as I know, no one makes or is capable of rewriting OBD2 h22 ecus, the only place I know of that has reprogrammed OBD2 ecu's is Ericks Racing.
Good luck...

Default Re: Not so simple.. (bb6h22a)

tnax guys for the input..

yeah i know all the procedure to ob1 swap already ..

the only problem is that it's ****** costy ..and the obd1 ecu is a lot less powerfull

the only reason i wanted that is to raise rev limiter to !8500rpm and add maps up to there
... if i can't find a way to work with obd2 i'll go with SPOON's spec chip and obd1
but that'll cost me a lot if u think of it ..

chip ~125-150$
adapter ~250$
distributor ~150$
ecu p72~300$

****
eheh

i'm into the "cheap custom" mods thing..ahah
