OBD2 to OBD1 Conversion
I have a 98 Prelude and we converted over to OBD2. We have a code 9. Would the distributor have anything to do with this, we are using the OBD2 distributor, a P28 Ecu with Hondata.

I wouldn't advise getting smart - if you would like help - anyway, get the code list from the H-T site and see what a code 9 is and list it here....i don't have mine with me, and i don't care to search.....report back what a code IX says and we'll go from there....

No you don't. You can use an OBD2 distributor if you want to. If you use peak and hold injectors, then you need the resistor OBD1 box (not necessarily from a VTEC Prelude either).

If I use the OBD2 distributor, what wiring do I need to add? It seems that the OBD2 distributor does not have a #1 cylinder sensor thus triggering a code 9 on the CEL. Much appreciated!

you need to replace your dizz housing. When doing the swap from OBD2-OBD1 my car threw the same code, and went through the same nonsense.

Use your original OBD2 engine wire harness. Reuse your OBD2 distributor + coil pack, alternator and injectors if you want to. You'll also need to swap the oil pump housing and the CKP and TDC sensors. The knock sensor will need to be swapped if you don't want to splice anything (I did). Everything else should bolt right up. The motor itself aren't OBD1 or OBD2... you just have to swap a couple parts here and there.
