ive been running a 75 shot for awhile now but i never retarded my timing to 2 is that a problem am i loosing out not doing that if so how do i go about retarding my timing to 2 thx.

 

you've retarded your timing to 2?!?!?!?! WTF? dude, OEM specks for most Hondas is 14-16, my Prelude it 15, you need to retard it by 2 degrees, not to 2 degress. that far retarded i am surprised the car runs

 

well no i havnt retarded it any yet i didnt mean 2 i ment 2 degrees lol yea 2 would suck hehe, but i havnt had any issues yet but am i missing out not retarding it 2 degrees and is that left or right? whats retarding it 2 degrees do for me? sorry im kinda new i always pay shops to do my **** i know waste of money. can you shed some light pls.

Retarding timing causes a loss of power, but also fends off detonation. If you aren't detonating on the bottle, then don't retard your timing.

 

im lost what does that mean detonating on the bottle? the car runs awesome on the bottle no problems yet without retarding it.

 

If you don't get engine knock when you are spraying then you don't need to retard your ignition timing.
