Default Noisy as hell....

Alright, now that the head has been worked and installed, and I finally got my Megan Racing header on..... The car runs strong, but it sounds like an airplane...

Its beyond obnoxiously loud.... and its very annoying and also got me a loud exhaust ticket the other night....

What can I do to quiet the damn thing down??

Setup:

Megan Racing 4-2-1 header/downpipe
Napa auto cat
Custom 2.5" cat-back exhaust
some ghetto "ractive" muffler

There's no holes anywhere on it or in it, but what can I do it get the noise a little bit back to decent like it was before.....

Its been dyno tuned last week, but this weekend its going back....

So a high-flow cat would flow more air than my little Napa auto cat, but get it quieter?? And I see alot of stuff that have cats and resonators being the same thing?? I'm like WTF..... The resonator goes behind the cat right? So like the two are piggybacked? Just trying to figure this exhaust **** out

They are and they arent. A resontator usally goes in front of muffler. And u know where cat goes. It should help to quiet your air plane a bit

I would say replace the ractive muffler with a high quality muffler. apexi ws2, thermal stealth etc.

are u sure there isnt an exhaust leak? a header should change the sound TOO much. My mechanic friend said that once u bolt it up then drive it a while the expanding and contracting of the metal can cause the bolts to be a little bit loser. Maybe get back under there and torque everything back down

also, if it has no resonator now then adding one will quiet it down and significantly de-rice the muffler sound (even if it is a crappy ractive lol)

Damn lol... them son'-bitches run like 400 bucks....

Lol yeah there's no resonator right now at all..... It sounded decent before the header and head work, but now its a damn airplane...

The exhaust just has a cat on it and there's nothing else but piping to the ractive muffler lol..... So buy a resonator and stick it before the muffler?

you have to get it welded in buy a muffler shop. they'll know where to put it

you can just buy a universal 2.5" magnaflow resonator they arent too pricey
