Default Nitrous again. . .

so i just did my first test run down the road with my new kit, i like it but i dont think its as fast as i thought it would be. does anyone else use it? can anyone give me some dyno specs? my dyno was really low. . . i'll put the pics up in a few. . .

ps. also before my iacv (i think) was causing my rpms to jump up and down a little bit when i first started the car, but now it wont stop doing it. . .what could this be?

hey zack there is a valve up underneath the throttle body that can get hung some times to make it do the same thing as the iac valve

Check all of your lines going to the TB and IM. Sounds like something is loose causing the vacuum leak.

You need 900 psi to work right, i got a 65 shot in now and it spins the tires through 3rd. do you have a 5 speed?

Need more info, what kit are you running, what jets are in there, what is your bottle pressure. Something is definately wrong with your setup. Very low numbers. I made 42 whp and 65 ft lbs with a NX 35 shot, so you should be making lots more. Chances are your bottle pressure is way way low and your just running really rich.....but as i said, we need more info.

ps. would the fast idle valve cause the surging? and if so what can i do to stop it?

I've heard that not all nitrous is the same. I read somewhere that some nitrous is rated at the flywheel not to the wheels...

Heater is the next best mod next to the bottle pressure gauge. You need to have them. Too much pressure can toast a motor and to little pressure wont give you pro proformance. Pull your jetts and make sure they are the right ones.

Yeap fast idle will cause surging but mostly on cold starts. But that also doesnt rule out the IACV also check for simple stuff like a vacum leak and/or air in the coolant system (bubble)

Yeap correct I know zex is rated at the flywheel and NOS is rated @ the wheels

^^^as he said, you nitrous has to be between 900 and 1050 psi for it to be correctly jetted. Lower pressure means less nitrous and too much fuel (proportionatly). Your NX kit comes with 6 jets, so you have to use the 2 that coincide together to make it right. Look at the jets themselves and give us the numbers that are on them and we can tell you if you even have the right jets in. God help you if you have a 75 nitrous and a 50 fuel or something, you could be priming her to blow.

I highly recommend a few basic things to monitor your system, a nitrous guage and heater are really necessarry to make sure that your kit is working to its fullest. Without those things you will have a hard time getting it to perform its best.

nx is wheels, but its all relative. Nitrous is nitrous, you put in X amount and it will make the same power no matter what system

A little off topic, but what kind of nitrous system can you use with ITB's?
