Pull the code and post back in here. Many things it could be, dont want to lead you in the wrong direction.

could be a toasted injector, bad iacv, an o2 sensor might even cause this.

yea, o2 sensor was the cause of my last "check engine light" encounter...but you wont be positive till you pull the code...

the only way to solve the problem is to get the code. its too hard to guess from what you told us about how your car ran....it could be from a lot of things, but you'll never know for sure until you pull the code.

pull the code this morning and it is misfiring #1 and #2, with multiple misfiring. i just changed out the plugs about a couple of months ago. do you think it might be my dist. cap, or a bad ignition coil.

Wouldn't a bad coil or ignition cap affect all the cylinders? Reset the ecu and see if you get misfires in different cylinders.

the exact same thing happened to me a few months ago I even had the same code. I checked and changed plugs, even borrowed my buds spark plug wires, and was still having same problem, so i figured it might be the injector because the header pipe on the #4 was not getting hot after running for a min or 2. So I pulled of the fuel rail and sprayed the injectors with carb cleaner. After I put everything back it still did it, so I swaped the #3 and #4 injector to see if the problem followed the injector and all of a sudden it started running fine. Very wierd but its been fine for the past few months

Misfires!!!! Sometimes will drive you crazy. THe idea is to be very systematic in your approach to diagnos this. Check a single component at a time and eliminate it.

First thing to do, pull the plugs from those bad cylinders and inspect them...Do a resistance check on them as well. You may also replace them just to be sure.

Then inspect the sparkplug wires from corrosion, cracking and such. You may even swap them if you wish.

Dirty injectors - well of course do what gabebb6 said. swap them with known good ones.

Also, check from air leaks too...

This is the real TURBO4dr! My friend uses my sn to post.

Any how did it ever occur to you guys that the ignition coil is going bad? The symtoms describe above are just signs of the coil going out. When it goes out you wont be able to start your car at all... So for the rest that have the same problem, borrow a friend's distributor and see what happens, that will save you alot of time!

Goodluck!!!
