need help diagnosing a start problem
a little over a week ago, i replaced my plugs, cap and rotor on my 93 Si w/h22a....
the day after, i went to start my car, and it didn't turn over or anything, just a single click. i tried starting it 3 more times, the next 2 times it did the same thing, the forth time, it started up, but it sounded a little labored though... definitely not a strong start. The next two mornings it had the exact same problem.... but then for a week, it was starting strong, no problems at all. Now today, the problem came back again...same thing... start it a couple times, just one click... then itll start up on the third or fourth try.
I bought a new battery, which I needed anyway, and it still happens.... plus I've checked and the alternator it is charging fine. I also think i can rule out the ignition switch since I am getting one click on the starter each time i turn the key to start.
So it sounds like either my starter (solenoid probably) or the relay. The problem is, it doesn't stay broke long enough for me to test the wire on the starter to make sure the power is getting there or not. I was hoping someone may have had the exact same symptons and were able to fix it. Also, I'm pretty sure that they would have nothing to do with it, but could the plugs, cap or rotor have anything to do with the problem, or was it just a coincidence that the problem started shortly after? Just want to put those doubts out of my head.
any suggestions idea are appreciated.....thanks

that's what I'm thinking.... is it possible to rebuild the starter, like just replace the solenoid? Or is it even worth it to do that?
thanks
