Default Need help deciding...

i cant decide what i want... i was going to get a WRX but my parents doesnt trust Subaru.. so my options are MR2 Twin Turbo, RSX type S, and the 97 and up Ludes... which would you guys prefer? Also if they all raced...which would win? Ha sorry with the Newbie questions. here is an MR2 ive been looking at.... its really pricey, but i wouldnt pay... i can negotiate...is there any problems that you guys might of heard with the Mr2 TT? also which ever i get im going to pay it in cash... here is the link

--MR2 Twin Turbo--

can you guys also help me out by telling me if there is something wrong with this MR2.. (ex: hey he did this to that dont buy it because its going to **** up later) my knowledge to all motor honda engines is very high... but the thing is that i dont know to much about turbos... -THANKS!!!

up to date... The RSX type S is winning my vote as so far... 09/13/02

you can't really wrong with any of the three cars. MR2 is a great car, mid engine, rear wheel drive, turbo, great performer. however, you need to be very carefull when buying a highly modified car like that... and $17000 for a 93 MR2 is way too much, i don't care what kind of mods he got.
if you're trying to decide between the prelude and the RSX, you might wanna think about what your mods will be in the future (if any). IMO RSX has more potential in the drag racing dept due to lighter body and and awesome motor. however, preludes are not to be underestimated. they handle great, they have good torque, and a unique and discontinued. both cars are awesome, but RSX gets my vote because it's a bit newer and also lighter. to be honest, i think you'll be happy with either one you get.

I kind of agree with your parents about the Subaru quality though. I know the WRX is a nice fast car but Subaru's quality is not as good as Honda or Toyota. My opinion, don't buy that MR2 because the car was heavily modified, who knows what's wrong with the car? If you want an MR2 turbo, go buy the bone stock one. Out of those 3 cars you choose, well, my suggestion is if your budget allows you to buy a brand new car, get yourself a brand new RSX Type S, it's a nice car, handles well and somewhat quick. If you want a used car, then I'd say get a 97-up Prelude Type SH. The MR2 turbo is nice but based on my experience driving that car, I don't really like it that much. It's a pretty fast car but doesn't seem to handle as well the first generation MR2. The MR2 turbo is not as light as you think. I believe the MR2 turbo is the heaviest MR2 of them all. As with the Prelude, well, I currently own a 97 Type SH and I love it. It handles so well. Most people prefer the base model but I myself prefer the Type SH, I think the car worth the money. ATTS works well on handling tight corners. Well, those are just my opinion though, I prefer decent speed and excellent cornering ability, that's why.

The Prelude will be the slowest in a drag race (maybe tied with the RSX), if that's what you mean by the fastest... However it will be the cheapest to purchase, and the insurance will likely be the lowest of all the cars that you listed. You should check with your insurer and get quotes on each car you are considering with identical coverage. The insurance cost would be a big factor in cost of ownership.

Also not trying to be an ***, but the MR2 Turbo is not a "Twin Turbo" it has a single turbo.

Beat me to it!

If you go prelude, just get a Base, SH will **** you off later on when you realize it added weight and some parts won't fit your car. Unless you regularly track the car the SH is not necessary.

I would go RSX-S for the warranty and quality.

No offense but why would you pay $17k for a modified car that doesn't even list it's mods?

RSX gets my vote.
