wat does the water valve assembly do on a 1995 prelude????? and can it cause overheating if it isnt working??????

 

I am pretty sure the water valve assembly directs coolant for the heater core. The valve opens when you Move the control to heat and closes when it is set to cool air It could potentially cause overheating if it were blocked or leaking. It wouldn't be the first place I would look to solve an overheating problem.

 

im just checking becuz the cable has come off and i already plan on replacing the thermostat
