Default is my p28 safe in my prelude???

alright i recently did an obd conversion on m 96 prelude vtec and i got they p28 and plugged it in it seems like it runs great but the check engine light is on + my car backfires a little is it safe to run this ecu unchipped on my car or is it perfectly fine please help

are you ******* serious?!? youre running your car with a ecu designed for a civic

without a chip and tuning (hondata, uberdata, chrome, neptune, etc.) your engine will self destruct!
