thanks for the encouragement guys!!
going to pick up a few parts at honda tomorrow, then i gotta let it sit in the garage all weekend because it's my best friend's wedding
but sunday night i'll be back at it again
my biggest hurdle right now is my parts being held up at the border... they're scheduled to be delivered tues-wed.... so i'm praying that they come in on time because i'd like to dyno friday morning and race that weekend!!
looks like it'll be a repeat of last year... and more sleepless nights
wish me luck!! haha

Re: (alterdcreations)
ok, so i got some work done last night
i ripped the old motor from the car, got my pistons back.... only needed to cut the exhaust valve reliefs
so i threw the pistons back on the rods and then had a POS ring compressor that wouldn't grab teeth.... so after fighting with the ring compressor for a while i decided to give up before i threw the damn thing through a wall
on another note.... ordered some stuff from yoparts but i'm not too happy with them right now
half of my stuff (head studs, FPR, fuel pump) is supposed to be in tomorrow
the other half of my stuff has yet to be shipped out
i spoke to the guys at yoparts last week and told them that i NEEDED this stuff THIS WEEK.... he told me 'no problem, i'll get that shipped out right away'
i just got off the phone with him to find out that my velocity stack and drag launch coilovers have yet to be shipped.... but he said he'd upgrade the shipping and that they would be here this week
so, we'll see if by some miracle they actually get here this week, but i highly doubt it
it's kind of been a nightmare dealing with these guys.... they're hard to get a hold of.... over the past 2 1/2 weeks i've emailed them 3 times with no replies, half the time i can't get through on the phone, so i've left voicemail twice with no call backs....
so.... yoparts prices yoparts customer service
which is very disappointing considering they're a honda-tech sponsor

Ok... well i've been working night and day on my POS to get it ready for the weekend... and it's finally ready (i hope)
so, i'm heading out EARLY tomorrow morning for dyno and then straight to the track afterwards.... wish me luck
ok.... so as for an update.... MOSTLY everything came together quite easily, except for 2 things... the cam cap bolts & my header
the old cam cap bolts stretched while claying the motor, so i bought new ones from honda.... and a few of them stretched on me!!!!!! anyone ever experience this before? i torqued them to 19 ft/lbs (i think) or whatever the honda service manual stated
and the header wasn't designed to work with an alternator.... it clears the bracket but not the alternator... so i gotta make a decision tomorrow at the dyno between running my old POS dc header or running without an alternator til i figure out how to mount it....
i also have some progress pics but it's way too late and i gotta be up in 3 hours to leave for the weekend.... so i'll update on sunday/monday for those of you who are interested
wish me luck.... hope my **** doesn't blow up!! LMAO (and if it does i hope i do some CRAZY damage.... haha)

Re: (alterdcreations)
ok.... well, after lots of stress and more cash the thing is finally done....
223hp 166tq
the motor has more in it but we had no more time to tune.... he didn't even touch the cam gears yet.... and all this was on 110 octane, so i know there's gotta be more in the motor
i'll give you guys the quick and dirty version
had the wrong plug wires apparently.... had to buy some new ones (apparently my Honda dealership somehow gave me B series wires)
the motor puked oil ALL over the dyno which was pretty embarassing.... i bought Rosko's balance shaft removal kit.... well, the bolts he gave me for the blockoff plate were too long, and what i thought was a snug plate was actually a bottomed-out bolt, so after about a dozen runs the gasket maker let go
i was at the dyno ALL day long (11AMish til 7:30PM) because i had to wait for plug wires to be delivered, then i had to clean up my mess off the dyno & floor, get shorter bolts and fix the blockoff plate, put the car back on the dyno and then had a 2 hour power outage!!!!
so, i'm trying to see if i can find anyone who makes an alternator relocation kit... i really wanna try out that header.... and i'm thinking of trying out a different tuner... Paul's REALLY hard to deal with

Re: My H23vtec 87x95 semi-budget build
Back from the dead again! LOL
I am a friend of Misterpsycho and I bought his old EG coupe/ this motor swap.
I have a bunch of questions to ask you fine folks about doing the swap into an Ek 4 door. hence the user name Sl33p3r EK lol.
please bear with me as I am not a Die Hard honda guy by any means, but when Misterpsycho would dust me in the 1/8th mile in my camaro with his civic, I kind of became a fan lol.
i will post up a formal introductory page but thought id start with this to get things going and let you all know where the build is now.
