It does not mess with your timing. It amplifies your sparks.

In theory, yes. Sometimes certain EMS's don't get along with MSD units though... I would try and run stock ignition and if you experience break-up then throw the MSD on.

You should be okay. I think PrecisionH23a has the best advice.

More of a break **** kind of way. MSD's tend to crap out on occasions and can lead to more problems actually.

Check that thread out. Read pages 6 and 7 on what 'littlebluecrx' replied with. He gets into the ignition box discussion in pretty good depth. Personally, I fried 2 MSD boxes with my EMS and it also led to distributor problems. I switched to coil on plug with the aem cdi unit since.

If you are looking at staying under 400whp, stay with stock ignition. Maybe throw a better coil on there, some ngk blue plugs, 3330 spark plugs gapped to .24" Also, make sure you have enough grounds on the engine. I've also realized that good grounds are vital with the ignition not breaking up with higher horsepower applications.

Sorry for being off topic, but could you possibly point me in the right direction for setting up a coil on plug ignition system?

Ok so i think i am going to stay away from the msd and just get good coil. Cant afford to take chances.

Would there be any benifit to this with a fully built NA engine. I would like to know where to get a coil on plug setup. I saw it on an h22 on a forum about a 2 years ago.
