MPG check for you guys.....Hows your car really running
I talk to local members and see what people talk/complain about all the time.....
16mpg, 18mpg.....22mpg HWY....
Well, I have been averaging ~25mpg about 50/50 city/hwy and I took a 150mi cruise yesterday. To my amazement, I clocked 30.1mpg with 70-75mph cruising and about 20mi@20mph bumper to bumper traffic. Take the stop and go out, and I may have seen 32-33mpg.
JDM Trans FTW!!! Very good running condition FTW as well!
My advice guys.......if you're experiencing the awful MPG that a lot of Prelude owners are, spend some money on maintenance instead of that *insert wasted mod here*

27 mpg mixed hwy/local. JDM H22/trans. I can make it worse, but my driving style doesn't hit VTEC every time...
That's full weight with a BS intake and exhaust.

I've been eyeing a Gearspeed transmission with new final drive though.... In a matter of months I might order one and see what that does to the ol mileage.

I am going to lean it out from 2500-4000 before my next cruise.....going to see if I can hit 35mpg HWY with no traffic!

I'm getting 25mpg with 50% city/hwy since my VAFC tune. That's up from 19mpg. I drive like a bat outta hell. And as you can see from the sig, I'm making about 15whp more than stock. I haven't done a full-hwy journey yet, so I'll just have to guess that it would be around 30mpg.

I get 27-28 mixed driving hitting VTEC every once in awhile
JDM h22a - M2f4 tranny
I have gotten 32 mixed but was driving shifting at 2.5-3k only consistently
31-32 consistent on highway California to texas trip at 75-80

Re: MPG check for you guys.....Hows your car really running
i guess this is a h22 mpg. thas pretty good considering h22 have shorter gears. as far as my b20 goes i get 35+ on highway doing 65-70 at 3-1/2 revs. city wise i get 25+ with mild traffic.
i'll jump back in this thread when i finish my h22 swap 3 gen with the accord final drive.

damn i must need some major tune up. i only get about 300 miles to the tank. i have a 94 vtec btw. if i do the math i get 18 almost 19 mpg. i guess cuz i need an oil change. checked my oil today and it was to the 'low' mark and dirty as hell.

Clint, your cheating if your just leaning it out and driving slow.. Secondly, are your primary lobes on your cams larger or smaller than the primary lobes on stock cams. As for trans, I thought you have a usdm M2Y4?
I still get 22mpg city and 27-28hwy.
But if people really want good gas mileage with performance, they can swap in a accord 5th gear in the trans...

my 2000 lude gets 25mpg driving a lil more around town than highway. I haven't checked the highway only mileage yet. It is 100% bone stock.

And this was in my DD with the JDM trans....
At last check I was getting low20s from the other Prelude driving it like a bat out of hell! Considering I average 8-9mpg on the Racetrack, I am happy with anything over 20 on the street with the way I drive!
I think I may do a test to see what it would get with the stock ECU and NO VAFC.....IIRC I was getting 16mpg before just a little VAFC tuning.....
Primary lobes have to be almost stock on the S2S1s, not NOT on the JUNs.

I get around 24-25 city with bolt ons (IHE+) and no tune. I use to get closer to 26, can't really tell why? Maybe it's just time for a tune.

Methinks the people getting Poo-Poo MPG aren't checking in.....They're busy trying to fix their cars!

I avg 26-30 with 90% hwy driving @ 80MPH w/cruise and A/C on
and 22-26 with 90% city driving with A/C on
and 22-26 with 90% city driving with A/C on

I get 9 MPG at the track, I can get around 33-35 MPG on the highway and I get between 25-28 in the city if I behave.
