misfiring
Here is my problem. I have a base 5th gen that is starting to run a little rough. At around 1800 rpms the car feels like it is misfiring. At that rpm it is as though there is a little loss of power and as the rpms continue to rise the power comes back on. It will also do this when i have the car at a very mild throttle, You could compare this sound to the sound of gas afterburning in the cat or igniting but it is clearly not.
I do not believe it to be an ignition problem b/c i have tested it at 5th gear with a heavy load and very low rpms. i have also replaced plugs, wires and the cap & rotor has been replaced within this year.
What the hell could be going on????

I'd still double check them just to be safe. Just cause you bought them less than a year ago doesn't mean they can't go bad. Some people buy Auto tenisoners and they fail on them within a few thousand miles...Also, maybe clean the EGR and IAC valves
