Default MAP Sensor

Awhile back I posted a thread asking if anybody had any assumptions of why I was getting shitty gas mileage. Just to refresh, I used to get around 300-330, now I am getting around 220. I was given a couple suggestions, but could not pinpoint the problem. A couple weeks ago my CEL turned on. I scanned it at my work, and it gave the code for a MAP sensor. I am pretty sure that would explain my bad gas mileage and loss of power. I checked out the MAP sensor, and it was really loose and had some carbon build up in it. Does anybody know how much these cost?

they're pretty expensive if u get them from the dealership. over $100. your best bet would be to try to find one from a salvage yard. you dont have to get one off a Prelude, u just have to get one off any other Honda/Acura from the same OBD (i.e. OBD1, 2).

I may have a spare MAP sensor sitting around, i'll check tonight. If not, grab one from a junk yard.

And yes, that would explain your problems. Mine went bad when I let my car sit for a year while I built my motor.

I did not know that, thanks. I called Honda and they said the MAP sensor cost $50. Originally I thought it was going to be over $100.

If you can check that would be cool, thanks.
