maintenance required light on..
after my foglights were installed, the maintanance required light came on yellow. after about a month now it's red. when i open my sunroof, it takes a long while for it to open/close, which i thought was a problem w/ maybe it needs oil or something, but once i switch off the foglights, the sunroof works perfectly. do i have to completely re-wire my foglights or is the light nothing to worry about? thanks
the maintenence required light is for your oil change and other things like that. It comes on every ~7500 miles. There's a reset thing for it somewhere in your dash.
On my 95 if anything is running ie lights, radio, etc, the sun roof is slow, I think its a typical thing, maybe the stock wattage alternator is not beefy enough. I did make it better by taking some white lithium grease to the track and making it as stress free as possible for it to move open and close.
Sounds like your fogs are draining power from your system and slowing down the roof...I don't know if that's to be expected or not.
Either way, thought, the maintenence required light is totally unrelated. It just turns yellow and red at preset times. If you want to change it back, just stick your key in the socket near it and push.

All u need to do is have the key in the ignition and hold the reset button for about ten seconds and turn the car on will u are holding down on the reset button and then hold until light turns off
