hey guys, i was wondering where i can get a lsd from....id like to get a jdm lsd, iv seen them go for around 300 on ebay but cant seem to find one now. i dont feel like payoing 850 for a new quaife unit. also, this may be a supid question, but will a b-series lsd fit in the h-series tran? i doubt it but someone told me they would fit interchangebly....well please give me you knowledge!! thanks

 

No, a B-Series LSD will not fit in an H-Series trans. Also, LSD which come in OEM Trans like the M2B4 will not fit in a non LSD tranny as I'm told.

 

yea thats what i figured, i dont wanna get e cheap piece of **** like phantom grip....anyones else know for sure if a jdm lsd will fit and where i cant get one...

 

jst do it tight, if u can afford it, get teh quaife

 

the JDM OEM 4th gen LSD does not fit in any USDM casing.

 

and to expand upon that, the cheapest way to get a LSD into your tranny goes through quaife land.

you can find good deals here and there. i think kteller8 has em for 775 shipped, which isn't bad.

 

id say get a quaife instead of a jdm lsd

If you want to use the OEM helical geared LSD then it'll cost you at least $900 for the used tranny. That is not under any warranty and shipping will cost more too. The tranny has different gearing so if you need new synchros or whatever it will cost a lot more if you can even find the new items.

IOW just look around and get a quaife with lifetime warranty. They even dare you to break it. the're an american company with a lot of racing history.

save your money and do it right once.

Yeh plus if it explodes you don't have differential pieces flying around your tranny.

 

I just swaped in a M2B4 tranny in my 5th gen. BOY is that a NICE differental! OEM rules. now granted if this tranny ever ***** the bed i'm up **** creek.
i don't Drag my car so lots of crazy launches will not be happinging. and if honda puts it in there car it MUST be good for.... 300k+!! and putting it in a Lude they must expect it to be raced...
