Low Compression
So my friend who is a mechanic ran a compression test on my Prelude, He said i had around 125 to 140 PSI. So apparently i will be investing in some new piston rings. I was wondering and since i am a Newbie, what else should i look into replacing while i am getting this done? The Prelude is an SH with around 103.5k on it. Any advice would be great, i am in some need of it!! THanks

Some new pistons and have the block re-bored. Might as well get the head port and polished, dont forget about a tuning system
No that is not going to be able to fix the issue. But since you have to put new rings on the pistons might as well go all out since your going to be pulling the whole motor.
Read inbetween the lines, to the poster under me.

P & P and a tuning system to fix low comp? ok.....
well, since you have low compression, if we rule out a head or head gasket issue, then yes your rings probably need replacing. your bores will need to be checked to see if they need to be re-bored, and if so, yes you will need new pistons and rings.
but on the off chance that a fresh hone will keep you in spec (unlikely though), all you'd need is new rings.
P & P isn't necessary for fixing what you asked, but if you get oversize pistons and bigger bores, a tune would help.

Does anyone have a link to where i can find a good set of pistons? This is going to cost me a boat load of money!! Luckly i might be able to save some on labor with my friend doing the work. Thanks for the advice so far!! Keep it coming!
