Default Lost motion assemblies- interchangable between models?

Hi,
My lmas started to tap terribly (120kmiles) so it's time to replace them. But I don't get why lmas for prelude 93-96 are so expensive (over 25$ for one). Lmas for 5gen prelude (and Accord Type R which uses the same ones) are 4 times cheaper. Anyone knows if they are interchangable? I'd preffer to put those form ATR but don't know if they fit.
Any help appreciated.

I don't know if either of them will work in your car, but i know that 97-98 model and 99-01 model Preludes have completely different LMAs according to the Helm manual.

Yes you're right...
1. lma for 93-96 prelude is 14820-P30-000 26$ per piece
2. lma for 97-98 prelude is 14820-P30-010 26$ per piece (the same as in B16A engine)
3. lma for 99> prelude and ATR is 14820-PCB-003 6,5$ per piece

So I' m interested in those from 99 lude as they could be stiffer than basic lmas... So if I only know if they fit

My LMAs are starting to stick and make noise too. One of the honda builder's handbooks just calls them noise supressers, while the helm says they are part of the valve spring load in VTEC. I know someone useing ITR assemblies in a H22 head. I dunno what the difference is, but they seem to work fine. I know the various parts all have different honda part numbers. I'm not sure which are interchangable either. Are the cheaper ones a lot different? Here are just a few part numbers for acuras:

14820-P8A-A01 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $7.08 $7.08
14820-P73-J01 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-P30-010 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-P30-000 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-P0A-010 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-P0A-000 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-PAA-A01 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $7.15 $7.15
14820-PCB-003 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $7.15 $7.15
14820-PR3-000 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $37.94 $37.94
14820-PR7-A00 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-PR7-A01 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-PR7-A02 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-PR7-A10 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $37.94 $37.94
14820-PR7-A11 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19
14820-PR7-A12 MOTION ASSY., LOST 1 $29.19 $29.19

I have asked around and no one seems to know anything. I've compared an ITR and H22 LMA in my hand. They looked the same, but maybe the valving or springs are different? This is the kind of information that this web site is all about, right? Anyone have some laying around that they can take apart and compare?

same size as far as I know

aklucsarits: What do the helm manuals for the later model preludes say about the LMAs? What makes you say they are completely different? I have the 93 helm, and from the picture, the LMA looks basically like a spring inside a cylindrical housing.

lma are those.. springs inside cylinders but certain lma`s have different spring pressures so they don`t bind the same with high lift cams that`s why i was wondering for ITR ones.. since they have more cam lift then h22a ones.
