Loss of power to everything
SO, when i am driving i begin to lose power to my lights, gauges, stereo, brakes and steering. When i rev the engine power comes back temporarily but, it starts to fade again immediately. I had my battery checked and it was low, but when we put in a new battery it still ran low. They suggest that there is something wrong with the charging system.
I had an idea though, since i just had pulleys installed does anything think it may be related to the tension on the belt to the alternator pulley? I hope it isnt.
Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?

u got a system in their?? if you do i had the same problem with my 4th gen..your alternator is weak as ***** and needs to be charged back up...let ur car idel for a good hour or more..don't run anytyhing....just let it run...if you got a stero, buy a power gap battery thingie...better wires and anything that you gettho riged ur prelude up with...ur mean to your lude if you gettho riged ur stuf... shame, shame on you BAD!!
I dont have a system. Nothing is installed wrong or shittily. Tech says it the pulleys underdrive the alternator and drained battery when it does not put out enough power. This should be fixed now.
I have the same problem. Killed my battery. I had the battery replaced and when i checked voltage directly from the alternator at idle, 3000/5000/6000 rpm, the alternator output was 12.6 volts. Just ordered a Mechman 175 amp alternator to take care of this problem. I have lots of accessories and an extensive audio system which require tons of power. Now, with 175 amps of power, all should run exceptionally.
