loss of power to everything
SO, when i am driving i begin to lose power to my lights, gauges, stereo, brakes and steering. When i rev the engine power comes back temporarily but, it starts to fade again immediately. I had my battery checked and it was low, but when we put in a new battery it still ran low. They suggest that there is something wrong with the charging system.
I had an idea though, since i just had pulleys installed does anything think it may be related to the tension on the belt to the alternator pulley? I hope it isnt.
Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?

Well, first things first: What % pulley is it, and have you gone to get the alternator checked just to be safe?
If you are experiencing loss of power, I doubt it's the battery or alt. The combination of no electricity and no power (engine) is confusing. I'm not sure what your car has, but it could be anything from a vaccuum leak to a MAF /air sensor problem to glogged injectors. Running around in a engine that hesitates is a ticking bomb and will wear your engine quickly, take that car in and have it looked at if it is under warranty/applicable to warranty work!
