hi all .
i have a prelude 96 its dohc and vtec i am having problem with rev limiter tht i come at 6200 rpm and vtec it dose not on till tht .
i mean when vtec dosent open the rev limiter comes to 6200 rpm . some times when vtec runs it come to 7500 . why is this happening i have rsm not plug vafc its pluged . wht should i do ,,

secondly i need to adjust TPS . for this i need setting ,,

How's your oil level look?

 

i dont mean to sounds rude, but i didnt really understand what you were saying, well i did..but anyway! Yeah check the oil level first thing. If the oil is low and the oil pressure is down, then vtec may not engage. If that is fine, it could be wiring related, but 9 times out of 10 it would trip a code. The VTEC solenoid or pressure switch may be going bad.

 

i am having problem with vtec it dose not work all the time some time it works and some time it dont .
well the oil level is ok . just changed the oil .
how to check for the vtec solenoid . pressure switch,

 

Did you properly warm the vehicle....? I don't think vtec will come on if the vehicle isn't at it's optimum temperature....

 

the settings for the tps are .5 closed and 4.5 wot

 

in my other car the TPS have 4 terminal it was some thing like tht ,.
1-2 =.5-10 kh
1-4 =35 - 55 ohms
i dont now how much ternimal are there in prelude ,

sorry but please tell me tht dose this WOT means .
the values are in kilo ohms or ohms .
