Default knock sensor

i searched but i couldnt find the answer and anything about preludes.. but i blew my knock sensor. where is it located, how much are they and how to install? is it just a plug in and play? its not really a big hassle to install right...?

On the back of the block, above the oil filter. It's the part at the top of the block where it joins to the head. You can't miss it.

I dont know about 4th gens, but on 5th gens, that thing is a freaking NIGHTMARE to get to. Gotta climb in the engine bay with your hand under the intake manifold and junk, not pretty unless you got the intake manifold off

damn..now i remember seeing the knock sensor. will any H-series knock sensor fit? or will i have to get a H23 knock sensor...?

Make sure you get an OBD1 knock sensor, as the plug is round. OBD2 knock sensor are a square plug.

#1 is coolant temp for the ECU
#2 is coolant temp for your temp guage

wait..can like any honda OBD1 knock sensor work in my lude? or do i have to get an H-series knock sensor?

im pretty dern sure that knock sensors are interchangeable. As long as you arent swapping OBD1-OBD2. Im gonna check part numbers with other honda's right now.

EDIT: the sites im checking are fookin cryptic and i cant even find the damn knock sensor.

don't forget proper torque! 23ft/lbs, it has been said that inproper torque can affect sensor accuracy! and of course handle sensor with care, peizo electric crysals are DELICATE!

I had a knock sensor that someone tried to souder back together and was bearly hanging on. If I hit a bump, the conection would come loose for a second and throw code. I used the sensor from a 97 si vtec civic in my 93 jdm h22. Everything is good. Hope this helps
