Default Keyless Entry Question

Just a quick question. This may belong in the Technical section, if so I am sorry. Either way when I lock or unlock the doors with the keyless entry on my prelude the parking lights dont flash or anything. I know that my parents 99 accord is set up so that when they lock the doors the cars lights flash to indicate that the doors are in fact locked. Is there any easy way to hook up the lights in my lude so that they do this as well?

Thanks,

-Jeff

What keyless entry do you have? I'm assuming its aftermarket and wasn't installed as you want it.

The accord you speak of is because it's factory. If you want to do this, you will need to tap your parking lights to the power wire on the solenoid that locks/unlocks your doors.

Im not sure. I have a 4th gen that I added keyless entry too. However, my freind has a new Chevy Malibu and on hers, you could program it to flash the lights or not. Instructions were in the owners manual. Chevy probably got that idea from Honda so I'd check it out if you haven't already.

chances are that you need to program it to flash. my old keyless entry system had me hold a certain button or two to activate/deactive the lights.

the only issue you'll run into in this is any time you lock your doors the lights will flash, and while the wiring won't be hard, you'll need to atleast know how to wiring in a relay.
