K&N filter
I hear mostly good things about K&N considering power gains, but what about filtering ability?
I was told that K&N filters are only unrestrictive b/c they dont filter well.
Is this true? I just dont want stuff crappin up my engine if i get one...

if K&N didnt filter well then their name wouldnt be the standard in filters. they have lots of R&D in the filter world. go ahead and get one without worries.
willing to bet at least 80% of honda-tech uses either a K&N or a copy of them.

I had one on my car for 40K miles. No problems.
I recently went to a AEM V2 Intake, and still have the K&N filter (cleaned and oiled it when I took it out). You are welcome to it if you'll pay for shipping.

When properly maintained, the K&N filters exceptionally well. In fact the dirtier it is, the better it filters. The gauze stops large particles and the oil catches light ultrafine particles.
But it's just a gauze filter. Better than a paper element but not significantly better than a generic e-bay auction gauze filter that's one third the cost.

No matter what, a filter's capability to filter will always be proportional to its flow capability.
If it flows more air, it will not filter as well. If it filters well, it will not flow as well.
K&N has a very good balance, IMO.
