No, only difference is the compression, and maybe the tune.

theres no performance difference between the heads that i know of. It's possible that the ports are a little bigger on the jdm head, but even if it is, its VERY slight.

i'd like to hear your explanation that the 93 was the best motor and not a biased opinion just because thats the year you have.

from 92-97, the h22 had hydraulic (cylinder type) LMA and 98-01 had spring (coil type) LMA's.

we really need reasons on why that was the best, not what yahoo or google said. some sort of technical reason why they were better than any other year.

well i say the 95 is best......

does that show any empirical evidence that it is the best year. NO, it does not.

here is a statement that is true and holds water yet does not deal with the h22:

the b17 motor is the best designed b motor structurally because it is the most square.

People believe 93 is the "best year" b/c the 93 Prelude VTEC is supposedly the lightest of the 4th gen. VTEC preludes. Nothing is different in the head.

I heard from some dude at "STATUS" in hermosa beach that, the JDM type S is an H23A Vtec RED TOP?

Is this true? I know the Euro Accord wagon has the blue h23 vtec.

Who said that?

Also people say the 93 VTEC engines were the best because they were the first VTEC engines produced so "supposedly" they were more aggressive with them and also restrictions weren't as tight then. (Also I've heard the 93 was the gineau pig year so there were more aggresive)

I would think that they would largely the same, and the only place where you might see a difference is between OBD1 and OBD2 engines.

No I believe he is refering to the H23A, or the F20B.

the argument was that the first v-tec was in 93 which is not true v-tec was first brought to the u.s. in 93, but the actual first v-tec was produced only in japan in 91.
