Re: JDM H23A blue top transplant coming soon...... (precord96)
posted this over in the all motor forum, but thought I'd post the graph here too.
The engine was swapped in and I reused my Blacktrax IM, 64mm TB, 3" SRI intake, Hytech header, and 3" Spugen piping to a 3" Apexi WS muffler. The difference between the 2 is that the H22A had an Alaniz streetmaster head, and JUN cams+valvetrain+cam sprockets. This engine is stock so I wasn't expecting much, but got very good results. This engine's potential looks very promising, and I'll be putting the head from the H22A and JUN cams onto this engine in a few weeks. I'll report the gains from those mods at that time. The YELLOW run is the H23A and the RED run is the H22A.

Re: JDM H23A blue top transplant coming soon...... (egcoupe94)
I've been driving it pretty easy on the road, because I have a new clutch in it so I haven't punched it yet besides the dyno. It's pretty easy to drive, but very similar to the last engine.
The torque curve appears to be all over the place, because the scale of the graph makes it seem like its has big changes/dips/curves. If it were scaled like dynojet graph it would appear much smoother. It's nice to see all the little dips and changes for tuning.

It was stock JDM, 10.6:1 w/ a slight mill on the head. It was probably around 10.8:1

I have a very similar set-up (H23A block, Hytech header, Blacktrax intake mani, 10.9:1 compression, etc.) except I have Crower stage 3 cams. I haven't had the $ to dyno tune it yet after swapping it into my EF hatch, but I'm loving the set-up & expect to have around 220 whp. The extra torque makes it very responsive & I can pull away from a lot of cars w/out having to hit vtec (keep in mind I'm about 7-800 lbs. lighter than most preludes).
I would recommend this set-up to anyone that wants a responsive NA street or track car. I look forward to seeing the dyno results.
